Step 1: Setup your line

  1. Go onto your line, make sure it has a set reference train
  2. Check the line length, it's above the route list (see image below) Line length example
  3. Now go to Line duration, change this to Custom and set it to the nearest round number (so in this case 2h 40m 0s)
  4. You should also set your Extra Stop Time to "Manually Picked Stops", this allows you to set timing points where you'd like them
  5. Now make sure, on the last stop on the list, there's no excessive time, if there is disribute it to other timing points
  6. That's it for the line, now time to make a Depot Line

Step 2: Setup your Depot Line

This assumes you've already made a depot - this isn't covered in this guide

  1. Whilst in lines, create a new Depot Line
  2. Name the line, select the platform and then select alternative platforms
  3. Make sure you have a stop selection signal set!

Step 3: Timetables

  1. Open the Schedules tab and create a new schedule
  2. Name the schedule what you want it to be and then move to Orders
  3. Select Insert at the bottom and find the line you want to schedule (So in this case CON HS2 / Nottingham HS2
  4. Each of these settings is important so I will explain them below: Timetable settings example
  5. Now you'll need to add your depot line to the schedule, this is similar to above but there's a few key differences Depot line settings example
  6. That should leave you with a screen looking like so Timetable example

Step 4: Offsets

  1. Select the Offsets tab
  2. Set your Group 1 offset to be the frequency of the service you'd like, for example 00:30:00 for trains every 30 minutes Group 1 offset example
  3. This will make each shift you make 30 minutes later than the next one, ensuring your frequency

Step 5: Shifts

  1. Shifts are decided on a formula like so
(Route Length in Hours + (Route Length in Minutes / 60)) * Trains Per Hour

  2. Maths is scary so on the front page I made a calculator, use that it's easier
  3. You can now create the amount of shifts needed by clicking the "create new shifts" button in the bottom left of the screen, create the amount you need
  4. You can now allocate trains using the Trains screen by selecting the train you want to allocate and then clicking the "Allocate to Shift" button, this will open a menu where you can select the shift you want
